The objective of the St James Fishing club is to promote fellowship, knowledge, sportsmanship and conservation practices involved in the art of salt water and fresh water sport fishing.
The regular monthly meetings are held at the Members Club on the first Tuesday of each month.
The only meeting exceptions are the clubs annual fish fry, holiday party. This years July meeting, our annual Fish Fry, will be held on the 20th at Waterway Park. Tickets will go on sale spring 2016. The holiday party will be on December 6th at Members Club. St James Fishing Club meetings are open to all St James residents and property owners and all are encouraged to attend.

A court injunction has stopped a planned closure of North Carolina’s flounder season that was set to begin this weekend.
The North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries announced this week that the state will not close the flounder season on Oct. 16 as was planned due to a temporary injunction issued putting several new regulations for the southern flounder fishery on hold.
The season remains open for commercial and recreational fishermen.
The recreational hook-and-line and gig fisheries continue with the current 15-inch minimum size limit and six-fish bag limit.
